Some of us enjoy the freedom of working from our home offices and are not too sad to wave bye-bye to corporate life. Your decision to cut the security of the umbilical cord and a regular paycheck is offset by the limitless opportunities that being a lone ranger brings. At home, you can make your own coffee, cook your own food, save gasoline, and avoid unnecessary routine purchases on your way home from work. You can actually save a lot of money and flexibility of your time is assured.
The world is open to opportunities and it’s yours for the taking, whatever you make of it. Your world depends on you and you only. Just imagine no limits to the wealth you can create and your business is your castle, your empire. With no middleman or overhead to carry, you can juggle your way around with timing and hard work.
You may not need to work 40 – 55 hours every week same like when you were the dispensable hired hand. It’s possible that your deals can create enough wealth so you hardly know you’ve been working. A couple of phone calls and a successful negotiation after connecting buyers to sellers could make you a comfortable living on just a couple of deals per month. Real Estate is so much fun. It’s a people business. Yes, you are working at home and yet you’ll meet several interesting people who are just as passionate as you are. Your spouse will feel included and less likely to make objections on occasions when you do have additional hours to put in. You will also feel special as the people around you will take care of your needs while you are at work.
Use your weekends to entertain supportive and collaborative likeminded people with whom you share business interests or network with. This is time well invested that keeps you out of your office and the phrase “a change is as good as a rest”, comes to mind. Have a party or a BBQ and just roll with the flow and see what happens. Relax, go for a Sunday afternoon drive with the family and take in the Seller/Buyer sale boards and mentally note the addresses with a view to following up another day.
If you can enjoy what you do, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor without the associated stress that you may have suffered in corporate life. Why not bring your other half along to business lunch dates and combine earning a living with some quality time with your spouse and business associates’ spouse? There is more to life than just work. The freedom to work your way towards your business goals and the freedom to make it work successfully at your own pace is not only financially rewarding but also personally fulfilling.
